I have a very salty (as in pitted) Naval TGE Papa. Have any of you ever seen or noticed the extra anchor as well as a symbol in the milled out area below the grip safety? Is it common? I have never read about it. Is the extra symbol just an inspectors mark? Thanks for any help.

I've never seen it (only because I don't own one with it) however, I did find that Harry Derby does list it in both of his books as a common mark for that serial number range under the 2nd Naval contract.

Thank you all

Ms. Teri Bryant from Canada gave me all the info within just a few hours after I emailed her the question. Once again thank you all for your quick response. For those of you who own Japanese Military Cartridge Handguns 1893-1945 by Derby & Brown. The information is on page 67.
