Just picked up a new to me puukko. Got it because it was very similar to one my uncle gave me - he supposedly picked it up in Europe shortly after WWII. This one is smaller, but the writing on the blade is clearer.
Can anybody give me any info on these two knives?
Too bad there isn't a good puukko information site.

I am not an expert on field of puukkos, but this one was made by Onni Mäkipelkola at Kauhava. His company was active from 1940s to 1960s. One typical feature of his products was the use of substitute materials for scabbards, for example.

I think Lemmy about covered it. Mäkipelkola puukkos with grips of aluminum, the shorter with leather "lamelles" (can't think of correct word in english here) and the longer possibly birch bark. The sheath looks like it's made of cardboard, if so it's probably made in the late 1940-ies. Fifties and sixties sheaths were made of leather.
