1915 NEW M91, # 841765 (bolt is a Tula Finn match), PL marked and boxed SA marked. It has 3 different civil guard marks on the barrel shank and reciever which are all lined out, Civil guard mark on bolt that is not lined out, and the chamber was never upgraded to any of the Finnish cartridges. Rear sight is upgraded for meters starting at 200, has a Finnish front sight blade, has the later style sling slots and wire hangers, and a earlier version split stock. Magazine, trigger, rear sight, cleaning rod, and bolt are Tula marked, nosecap is triangle Ishevsk marked. Barrel, reciever and bands are NEW, and the follower is an extremely pitted Chatellerault, unnumbered as is the buttplate. The cocking knob is marked 44147, wich I have not been able to figure out yet.

New to Finns, but here goes. M91 1914 Izhevsk receiver with Austrian AZF property mark, Barrel 1941 Tikka has small POLUSLAITOS Finnish Army mark used for 2 months only in 1942 on barrel shank. Also has boxed SA on shank, 1941 date is over a D, SN 28372 and underside has a 12272 stamped on it. Stock looks like a 3 pc with Finn sling swivels and cooper end caps on HG, bolt & receiver match(only 2 parts SNed). This old soldier has seen active serviceabout 40% blue, no pitting with an excellent bore and muzzel(no counter bore). Old tine small Century import stamp.

Finnish Army ordered the first batch of 20000 m/39 rifles from Sako in 1940. These were delivered until sring 1942. The serial numbers should be up to 220 000. New order of additional 20 000 rifles was placed on 15.5.1942 (the third one in 1943).

Lowest number with Puolustuslaitos- stamp reported here is 205 02x and the highest 209 235. All of them are 1941 dated. With this sample we can make a conclusion, that roughly 4000-5000 pcs of Sako m/39 rifles were stamped with Puolustuslaitos mark. This is only an estimation and based on the sample we have here.

M39 in a straight stock
serial# 207017
1941 (but you'd swear it was 1944 unless you knew to look at the 1 real hard).
"3600" proof mark
SA mark
No "D" mark
Twin markings, one on each side of the barrel near the edge where it meets the rear site, that look like a bug-eyed frog's face with an "X" where the mouth should be.
