Ok, I know very little about these - what should be marked and not marked, etc. This one has a sportered stock(cut down on forend). Any pointers and price? No butt plate but it has a magazine.

Try the G43 forum a few down you will get more info.

You will most likely be asked to post pics.

Since it is sportered it will be worth the sum of its parts, so pics and detailed description will help.

Be sure to get the maker of the mag, a GCB is very common and is about $150 in good condition others can easily be worth double.

If the bolt and carrier match the rifle it can be worth 1000$ easy. I bought a sportered G43 awhile back (6 months?) for 500$, when you consider that bolt groups can bring 300$, and the carrier can possibly bring 300$ on gunbroker or ebay that gives you an idea. BCD's are harder to find as the factory was bombed out in 1944, that said I think I'd also be more leery of buying a BCD if I was going to use it as a shooter. They were made with concentration camp labor and they were subject to sabotage...blind holes not drilled all the way through on gas ports, etc. 150$ for a GCB or AYE marked mag, quite a bit more for the rarer mags.

BCD's are the hardest G43's to find and can demand a 100% premium over an AC or DUV of comparable condition.
