I've always wanted a P-64 to round out my collection. I was at a local gun shop and saw one in Excellent condition with only one mag for $200. But it had a custom grip and I prefer my military pistols "as issued" (and a holster and extra mag would be nice too). The grips were black and white woven checkered (the black may be carbon fiber) under a clear epoxy finish. Anyone ever see one like that or have an any info or approximate value for it? If I get the pistol I will probably swap out the grips and sell them.

Anyone know a good place where I can get the original grips as well as a holster and extra mag?

I guess the good news is you probably will be able to sell the grips to some "enthusiast", and pocket a substantial difference. I too like 'em "as issued" or as close as I can get. I

I didn't really want to go the EBAY (antigun) or Gunbroker route to buy grips and mags (unless it was from someone known or at least well regarded to the group. I guess that part of my question was about reputable / dependable dealers.

The second part is about the replacement grips. Anyone ever see one like that?

I believe Classic Arms has original P64s in stock. They come with two mags, holster. Original "as issued" grips as well. Slainte!

Post a want to buy on Slim Tim's Trader as well as the other Trader on Gunboards. Lots of guys on the makarov Forums have the P-64's.

Noticed lately that Ebay is teaming with gun parts. They are like anybody else, business was slowing down so they now allow gun parts with pictures of real guns. If you are willing to wait you can find some reasonable prices on GB. I've bought two EG Makarovs in the past 4 months for $290 each. As for the checkered mulit-colored grips, they may be Zee grips.

Thanks for the input. The pistol is still at the store and I'm still going back and forth on it. I can probably sell the grips and buy a replacement and a mag......But like one of you said, I can just buy one with everything I want (original).
