In this pics there is a group of Balilla Moschettieri, the gun they are handling is 91 cavalry shaped, but realy was shorter of a real carbine and the cartridge that fired was a reduced version of 6,5 ammo. My father tell me that the guns was given to the Balilla only in occasion of Fascist Celebration, he never saw a cartridge, niether go to fire it on range. It was only for drill purpouse, also if can fire reduced ammo.

Nice pictures Lanceri! I also like the old automobile in the picture with the Polizia Partigiana, I assume it's a Fiat.

Airdale,
your is real difficult to reply you about car, I ask my father about car and it was in great difficult because car it was painted and modified for war exigence, look like a Fiat or a Lancia, but not sure, may be also a foreign car, at the time not much present in Italy, but...
i add two other pics of the same subject, if you are a vintage car fan can you look around to find true identity of car. My best regards

Hallo All,
After a long search in folders I find a pic realy intresting. In this shot there is a group of german soldiers wearing italian mimetic cloth, moving an italian anti tank PAK 47 mm, and armed with Carcano mod.'91/41.The 47 PAK was nicknamed Elefantino (puppy of Elefant).
All my best

Note from Carcano:

I am not sure about the classification of the troops. I am unfortunately no specialist for late-war uniforms, but I believe that Italian RSI troops and Italian Waffen-SS units also wore this kind of uniform, as well as German police (Südtirol) and maybe other Italian auxiliaries? Would anyone know better, which other units mikght have been dressed like this?
Furtheron, I would not feel able to distinguish a Fucile 91 from a Fucile 91/41 on this photo - but maybe others are?

Best regards, Alexander
