Hey guys,

I usually frequent the k98 and German Militaria forums, but am new to this one. I recently acquired a nice ar 15 from another forum member and since I've always wanted to get one of these I made a few changes to it. I've really enjoyed putting this thing together, and intend on building another in the future. Hope you guys don't mind me showing it..

I like the rear Site and that you painted the charging handle yellow. that is kinda cool! Thanks for showing it off. You did A good job. It took me bout 12 builds to finaly get what I wanted sorted out. Im down to 2 and am looking into a third. Post like yours keep me motivated. Where did you get your parts?

Thanks guys! When I acquired this rifle it was just an Olympic Arms lower reciever, vltor emod stock, and DPMS upper with del-ton pencil barrel. I'll post some before pics below. I don't have a ton of money, and was working on a budget, so needed the best quality for least amount of money. After reading through these forums for a few weeks I decided on the following:

-Del-ton mid length upper with 1:9 twist. (I was extremely happy with the groups that I got from the del-ton pencil barrel, so I stayed with del-ton.)
-Rock River Arms bcg
-Badger ordnance charging handle release (painted yellow to replicate an m4 in the video game "Modern Warfare 3"
-Omega tactical quad rail (great value from eBay)
-sightmark 3x magnifier with flip to side mount
-vortex strikefire red dot sight (aimpoint clone)

Im pretty happy with this setup, but intend on replacing the front sight with a Yankee hill flip up sight/gas block, and replacing the stock with a black magpul. It's funny I'm so used to shooting old mausers and nagants, but when I shot this thing at 100 yards the rounds went exactly where I wanted them to haha. Not used to that kind of precision. Anyway, here's a picture of the rifle before I started on it..

And mike, the rear sight is a matech.. Might be replacing that with something a little lower profile soon though.
