Today I went to the gun show in Pensacola and I wasn't expecting to find anything, I was mainly looking for good deals on ammo (yeah right. :() But I saw the table I usually go to because he usually has some neat older mil surplus firearms so I went over to the table and what do I find.. A 1897 Tula Mosin! She is unscrubbed, and has two SA stamps on the side of her. What impressed me even more was that I could not find an import mark anywhere! I think I did okay on that deal for $200 out the door. ;)

So after that, I was already hyped up about that find, so I go across the place and find another Mosin just sitting on the rack, I was thinking to myself it might be a Romanian M44, but the stock looked too nice to be that so I went over to it and picked up, and what do you know, it's a 1953 Polish M44, bluing is perfect, the stock isn't perfect but it's beautiful, I talked to the owner for a little bit and came to a deal of $275 for her! Needless to say, this has been a very successful day for me and my Mosin collection!

Pictures will be in the next two posts!

I have a new term for you all, brought over from the tech. world where they call things you see that are a bit 'blingy', a funny name.

"Eye Candy"!!! Those, to me, are such... Because, i don't have, and desire, upon seeing them... Very good work, sir!

Congrats! Those are two fine lookers for sure. Interesting stock on the M91. I'd of definitely pulled the trigger on the M91. Not a bad deal for the Polish carbine either. I didn't have as good of luck in the 90 mile trip to the gun show today. Only saw 3 Mosins there. But the 90 miles back wasn't too bad either, pretty nice day for a ride.

One question for all on the '91 (great find by the way!)

I notice a stock repair that appears like it is covered with some sort of epoxy at the left rear of the action. Is that an arsenal repair of some sort? I ask because one of my Finns (an M28) has a similar repair done in the exact same fashion. I thought it had been done here, but seeing this rifle just made me want to ask.

Missed the show, had UWF tour day for the daughter. Congrats...Asian69, did not know we were in the same locale! Good finds! Congrats!
Oh yeah, I have been seeing a lot of tours lately at the campus. I'm going there right now for International Studies and Political Science! Pretty nice school for what it has. Parking stinks though!

Well at least it was a good drive! I wasn't expecting to find anything really, but that's what happens I guess! I am still on the hunt for an SVT-40. I might be using these are bargaining pieces in the future.

Nice finds! So what didnt you lime Bout the Polish stock? It looks pretty good in the pics to me.
From the other M44's I have seen, they have either been heavily beaten up or amazingly untouched. This stock shows wear but the rest of the rifle is pristine. I'm not going to argue though because all parts are matching!

+ 1, it looks like it has some honest wear but nothing extreme looks great.
Thanks Spax! Don't you have a Polish M44 as well?

Gentlemen, thank you all for the kind words as well, I was very lucky to stumble across them!

Very nice! Are the Polish ones considered the higher quality M44's, much like the Polish Tokarevs?
