Here is a test for the experts....... See if you can identify what these parts are from. I will give the correct answers tomorrow........OK.......OK.......Actually, I found this box of parts, and have absolutely no idea what they are from. Any of you guys want to take a guess ? Anyone need something from the box ??

Dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmn Badger.......... you are good !!!! I will try the nose cap on a 98 I have. Take your pick - any one of the other parts for your hard work !!!

Looks lie the remains of a mauser and an o3 that were sporterized.
Not sure about the rusty one, probably from some other gun.

First not sure is the Mauser front sight, maybe from a WW1 Kar 98 or some other type with the ears. It's probably part of the same group of Mauser parts from a sporterized rifle.

The rusty band with integral sling swivel could be from any one of a number of guns, but probably and older muzzleloader based on the thickness at the top and thinness at the bottom (if that makes any sense).

The sight with the protective ears is probably from the same Mauser that was sporterized. Might be a Kar 98 WW1 or other Mausers from other countries.

If you want to send me something, the only one of those parts I could use is the sight hood for my mid 30s 03. It's not necessary for you to give it away. Its worth some money.

I'm an Expert, so I thought I would take a shot at it.

In the first pic:

The second from the right in the middle row is the band to secure the rear handguard ("lower band") on a No4 Lee-Enfield.

In the lower row of the first pic, the 2nd and 3rd from the right appear to be substitute standard WWII-era barrel bands ("swivel bands") from No4 Lee Enfields.

The sling swivel in the top row could also be the buttstock swivel from a Lee Enfield.

First pic, bottom row, second from left: this hook appears to be from a canvas web sling for a Garand.

That's very generous, Rick! I wouldn't mind having the lower band (1st pic middle row, 2nd from right) I've got a few LE barrelled receivers laying around that could use a good rebuilding!

the unknown front sight (second row, second from left) could be either from a german kar98a or from a polish mauser (either kbk-wz98a or kbk-wz29) they are all the same. the rear sight base and leaf looks like it may be from the same rifle. y'all have a good day, Keith

Most of the items are from a Kar98, the sight hood is for an 03-A3 Springfield. The rusty band and swivel are not Springfield. Looks more like P-17 Enfield.

Extra unwanted parts of any firearm always accepted here and have often come in handy. Recently had a "I know I got one of those somewhere" moment. Had puchased a Mossberg 144LSB (.22 target rifle), front aperture sight was flattened. Looked around and found the Lyman sight in my "pile o' stuff" that I had been given 4 years ago, in the misc sight parts drawer. I also have a shoebox that's filling up with the "I dunno?" parts (mystery handguards and butt plates, etc). It all comes in handy because IBBG.
