Pilot survived and was ID in another post on the boards.
The plane was flown at one time by a Canadian Ace, but not at the time of the crash. Pilot never found. The parachute was nearby, like it had been draped over the side of the fuselage for shade. The radio and batteries were removed as though he tried to get the radio working. Best guess is that he tried to walk out of there. Not likely as the nearest town is 200 miles from the site.
