Out of the closet Jinsen NOW PHOTOS

So sitting around on Sunday night I get a wild hair and do a search on a "nationwide for-sale website" with local searches that doesn't allow folks to post firearms. I type in "Arisaka" and get a hit. 40th series Jinsen from the closet that came home with Grandpa. It was located about 20 miles from my house. Now it is in my closet. 46k serial range, normal late features, matching and great finish.

Mum or bald?
Ground...
Wow, that's cool. You didn't even have to type "hunting tool"!!
I've seen, and bought a few guns off that Nationwide for-sale website.:D
Albacore and I monitor it for bayonets.
Brad, will you be posting any pics? That's half the fun.
There was 2 AR-7s posted today in the Bay Area. Not sure if they have been deleted yet.

Yep. No bayonet shall escape me!

Here are a couple photos. Interesting features are solid middle band, Type "B" stock (grooved, no separate forearm) and what appears to be a second class mark stamped in the groove on top of the bolt release. SN is 466xx.

Stock is also one of the ones that I used to assume was a refinish. I have handled enough Jinsens at this point to know that they were often made this way. Inspection proofs are clear and sharp. Wood under the barrel band and inside stock is unfinished blonde wood indicating the stock was finished after assembly. Just an odd bird. Will keep this one for trade booty as I have another with same features aside from stock finish.

Did you see this one? If not, never say never. Not a steal, but not too bad.;)

No, I missed that one, arghh. I'd say that's pretty close to a steal. I wasn't referring to auction sites though.
The bayonet is in mediocre condition for the most common variation. It would of been a real steal had the frog strap been full length!

Condition is much better that pictured. Excellent blue on the blade and scabbard. Too bad about the frog strap.:(
I always get a kick out of descriptions where blade is mint & perfect! Of course it is! Because it's been covered up & protected it's whole life by the rusted, dented scabbard!

Kinda like, "Beautiful blue under the woodline" rifle descriptions.
My favorite is the phrase "good condition for its age" in a listing without photos. What exactly does that mean??
I've heard this one at gunshows: "you can see how old it is, look at the rust on it"!

It means it's in horrible shape.
