"Stalin's Ghost" still makes frequent appearances around the world and in the "land of the free.".

Often the Ghost is invited as an advisor and guest by various American politicians, liberal colleges, Hollywood stars, major television networks and politically correct organizations for sage advice on how to make the world a better place by suppressing free speech, demonizing opponents as "enemies of the State," placing propaganda everywhere in the news and media while undermining the Constitution as completely as possible. These were Stalin's very successful methods, so his advice is always welcome by those with similar dreams.

The old Ghost works hard to bring back the gulag and the knout for those who support an anti-Socialist heresy that individuals have rights and who refuse to accept the politically correct view that true obedience to the State is the answer to all problems. He hopes that all political opponents of the State can be sent to Siberia in boxcars and so far quite a few politicians and newscasters and actors are agreeing, at least privately. Stalin's Ghost knows that those opponents have to go to the gulag or the wall before truly "Progressive" measures can be taken to better the State.

It is the Ghost's fondest dream that total and complete power can rest once again in the hands of a "Fearless Leader" who alone can determine every single law and control everything, just like in Uncle Joe's heyday. So far it is going very well indeed, says the Ghost, with Stalin's ways being implemented all over the world and in America, state trials and financial ruin for those who speak for themselves and general misery for those who actually act in a non-politically correct fashion. More of the old Stalinist ways to come, says the Ghost, as we move toward his "Socialist Republic of America."

Lest we forget...
I knew there was a simple explanation. :)

What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

William is my name, though many suspect it is Christopher... So I decided to call myself Nick. And I like semiotics and semantics.

Marshall stack, PRS DGT, Dean E-Lite, and Dean Hardtail guitars...play loud...the rocker part.

The 98 is a radio station, KUPD. Don't listen to that station much anymore. They started playing some weird sh!t. Now listen to KSLX (100.7)

For those who may be unaware, "geladen" is the marking on a Luger that means "loaded" (readable on the side of the raised extractor when there is a round in the chamber).

But I'm not a Luger collector; I only have two, a 1940 Mauser P08 and a 1914 Erfurt LP08. I collect everything, normally one each of a type weapon or a type crest.

The eagle icon is a photo of a reproduction WWI German flag in my "museum".

I was a huge fan of the late 80's early 90's sketch comedy Kids in the Hall. They made a movie called Brain Candy about developing a happy pill. Patient 957 (Mrs. Herticure, played by Scott Thompson) was one of the test subjects. Rather obscure reference I know, but it amuses me. I miss that show.

Great informative thread. Funny too.

Was in the control tower one night at Grissom AFB (so named at the time) as guest of one of the controllers. The A-10's were doing night manuvers. One of the A-10 Pilots call sign was Zip Gun. Thought that's was a nifty handle so to speak. Adopted it as a gamer handle and the shortend it to Zgun bout 10 years ago. Had it for 18 to 20 years now.

Mine is also a reference to a TV show. In the sci-fi future (actually the past of the show) of Firefly, a war is fought between the Alliance and a group of freedom fighters nicknamed "browncoats". I like freedom :)

Wow, when you are right you are RIGHT! I mean that as a compliment...My user name is much simpler...I step out the backdoor to see whats setting off the dogs, and there's a Black bear running right at me. I don't even get out the "Oh [email protected]#&" before she goes by. You have any idea what a Black bear smells like? YUCK! Then there was the time, oh never mind...
