This is even worse than the 1989 Kommiefornia assault rifle ban which does not include several of those guns like the Ruger mini-14 or M1-carbines - unless fitted with aftermarket high capacity magazines.

In making this determination, the bill says, "there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any federal law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a firearm shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event."


In plain English this means that ANY firearm ever obtained by federal officers or the military is not suitable for the public.

Say goodbye to the Remington model 700 sporters. Both military snipers and police SWAT teams have used this hunter's favorite to kill people for decades. This doesn't surprise me because Dianne Frankenstein's last assault weapons bill included the Remingtom model 1100 semi-automatic shotguns, which the police rarely use at all. They prefer the 870 pumps instead...

I, myself personnaly think Obama is a stooge (pupput) that is controled by the left wing , ( ever notice how he is always surronded by the radicals of the DEM. party when on "stage" . I remember the Weather Underground very well. They burglarized a National Guard armory. Bill Ayers and his gang armed themselves with stolen M-16 assault rifles. They robbed banks and killed cops with illegal automatic weapons fire. Later it was bombing Banks of America and Pacific Gas & Electric power substations in Kalifornia.

Now Ayers lobbies the Illinois state legislature demanding that they coddle violent gun toting juvenile thugs and support anti-gun politicians. His wife spent more than one year in jail; because she wouldn't snitch on her cop killer friends in the WU. On the other hand, a steroid pusher spent three consecutive terms behind federal bars; because refused to rat on Barry Bonds. Your government is more afraid of a pill popping baseball player; than a commie traitor armed with automatic weapons and crude explosives. IDIOTS...

Not to be a smarty pants, but why are the Thompson and Caliber .30 U.S. Carbine listed but not the M1941 Johnson, M1-Garand, B.A.R., and S.V.T. not? I mean after all, the ones not listed do technically meet their requirements to be categorized as such. Or is it because the naughty gangster monkeys in the concrete jungle don't often make sawed off weapons to use in drive by shootings out of them?

You dealing with morons who are afraid of ugly guns instead of firepower. They should have learned by now, that stuffing a 30 round magazine into a Ruger mini 14 is no less deadly than a black AR-15 assault (?) rifle. In fact there was a FBI shootout in Miami in 1986; where two bank robbers were armed with those same weapons. One is illegal and the other is not in some places.

The M-1 Garand uses an 8 shot clip.

The M-1 carbine is legal in Kommiefornia; but original 15 round magazines are not. The Johnson and SVT have a PC ten round magazine. If Springfield can sell their M1A's with a 10 round magazine; then Ohio Ordnance could do the same thing with it's BAR clone too.

Somebody told me that they want to federalize the gun laws adopted in the Land of Fruits $ Nuts 20 years ago and then some. Some of us laughed our azzes off; when these anti-gun politicians left several guns off their list of 54 banned models which met their established criteria. Wanna bet that they've never even heard of that Johnson rifle, even though MIL-TECH Enterprises rebuilds them from scratch just south of a gun free zone called San Francisco?

They are included in the bill:

That means ANY firearm acquired for service in the military, and I bet they will be creative with when they were in service (which means doesnt matter when).

Its interesting to point out that its different this time around, we have the internet now to uproot all the news and details curtailing the new government change, unlike the carter or clinton eras. Wether or not things are exagerated and what is "true" will always be argured though. Me, im a worst-case-scenario kind of guy, wont suprise me if all this BS comes to pass

Which means that thousands of those Remington model 700s have been purchased by the military and police SWAT team snipers. They aren't going hunting with one of the most popular deer slayers ever made.

We could go back in history and ban several pump and semi-automatic 12 guage shotguns; because they were used in the trenches during WW1 and later by the police in the Roaring 20s gangster era.

I turned down the chance to buy a surplus police department issued Winchester model 12; because I didn't wanna keep having to justy owning it. This thing had the law enforcement agency's name and even their car door seal engraved into the left side of the receiver...

The Bush41 ban (Comprehensive Violent Crime Control Act) which was introduced in 1989, eventually signed into law by Clinton in 1994 and allowed to die a few years ago is probably what gun-control legislators will try to resurrect, if anything in Obama's first term. Way too many major issues on the front burner to stir this hornet's nest up. My neighbor seems to be losing sleep worrying about the issue because he brings it up every time we're at the range. My bet and I can be as wrong as anyone else is that we're not going to have a big push by Kennedy-Feinstein-Pelosi-Shumer etal to go after guns in the middle of an economic meltdown and major foreign policy problems. I'm not worrying about it and bet if I live another 20 years (improbable), I'll still have my Garands.

Interesting list of weapons included in Bush's list, similar to those listed above:

• Norinco, Mitchell, and Poly Technologies Avtomat Kalashnikovs (all models);
• Action Arms Israeli Military Industries UZI and Galil;
• Beretta Ar70 (SC-70);
• Colt AR-15;
• Fabrique National FN/FAL, FN/LAR, and FNC;
• SWD M-10; M-11; M-11/9, and M-12;
• Steyr AUG;
• INTRATEC TEC-9, TEC-DC9, AND TEC-22;
• revolving cylinder shotguns such as (or similar to) the Street Sweeper and Striker 12.

Bush also authorized the ATF to expand the list but exempted domestic manufacturers to a large extent.

These idiots don't seem to know that SWD didn't have the MONOPOLY on making these guns. I used to have one made by RPB Industries of Atlanta Georgia.

Some of us also remember that the gun experts in the Kalifornia state legislature didn't even have the brains, to include Patrick Purdy's Norinco 56S (AK/s-47) on their original list of 54 banned assault weapons as defined by morons named Roos and Roberti.

USA Magazines Inc rose from the ashes of this silly gun control law. We found ourselves with a new supply of high capacity magazines made for sporters like the Remington 742/7400 series of rifles. Most of these were chambered for calibers which make the 7.62x39mm and 5.56x45mm rounds look like a pea shooter. Who needs an UZI or a MAC-10; when you could buy an extended 30 round magazine that fit into the grips of a 9mm Beretta, Browning, S&W, Ruger, Taurus and many more. Back to square one in 1992.

They still can't stop the drugs from crossing the state and internatuonal borders. They can't somebody from getting high capacity magazines either. So you buy them at gun shows and the stores while the wife is gambling in Reno or Vegas...
