Hamstring problems for sure!

The Wagah border is the only road linking India and Pakistan. And every night, the border is closed with a most unusual ceremony. Only 156 seconds long, it is one of the strangest things you will ever see.

Grumpy, I use this clip in the classroom. I especially like the handshake at the end. "Good show-my man. cheerio".
The Rockettes meet Rudyard Kipling.
Everyone needs to start their day with a smile and a chuckle...thanks for providing mine for today!
And the "it's everywhere rifle" (the AK47) is on both sides of the border! Not a ceremonial FAL in sight.
Very cool. They seemed to be almost challenging each other at one point. Then the simultaneous lowering of the flags and the handshake.
Boy, just, oh boy. Couldn't make that up.
They had a lot of help from The Minister of Silly Walks.
You can definately see the british imperial influence there

Groucho?
I am totally amazed that these guys can keep a straight face during this charade. Their Self control is to be admired. Perchance a residue of silly pompous English influence ?
I kept thinking of Cleese throughout the whole thing. Oh, and the guy that kept shaking his head? Elmer Fudd! hehe

I apologize for making fun, it is a cool ceremony, especially in light of the fact that these are from two opposing armies and nations. Maybe not active combatants, but different nations.

Yes, as silly as this may appear, it's probably best to remember that to the participants it's in earnest. Listen to how the crowd on both sides are cheering them on, just like at a football match, and look at the related videos. There are a fair number of Pakistani videos making fun of the Indian soldiers whenever they have had a hat problem or made a misstep. The videos have comments like, "So the Indian Army still thinks it can beat Pakistan when it's soldiers do this?" It's probably very easy to maintain a straight face when you are performing for national pride.
'English influence'? Why is it that whenever that anything British is mentioned it's called English?
