Yikes! I thought I'd better stock up before the "messiah's" reign begins. AKA "the one"
Seems like everyone else has the same idea. I wanted to stock up on .30 carbine, .223 and 7.62X39. All of these calibers are sold out everywhere I checked. I did place a backorder with Cabelas. I know that at the gunshows, ammo has been selling at record levels.
I'm thinking there may well be an assualt on the 2nd amendment like we've never seen before.

You may well be right!

That said however, WE THE PEOPLE are the Government, not the fools in DC! We must keep a steady stream of mail, E-mail, phone calls letting them know we will work tirelessly for their opponent if they try this nonsense!

By the way, please join and support the NRA if you already haven't!

Right on! They are the strongest & loudest voice we have.
For many years I was an off & on member but when Clinton got elected I became a life member & since have gone from an endowment member to being a patron member now.

Personally I don't think there will be an assault on the 2nd Amendant in the near future (don't worry I didn't vote for him). But my gut tells me that he'll be more middle of the road at least for the first few years. That said, I did just order some 8mm and 7.62X54r from AIM a few days ago. Not because I'm worried but because the price seems good. Now I'd love to find some reasonably priced Arisaka 6.5 and 7.7. The current Norma prices are killing me!

Just got back from the Lakeland, Fl, show and did attend the Greenville, SC, show in December. Record crowds and extremely hard to get around. I stopped for a few minutes today and watched a fellow selling cases of various calibers at one table. There were maybe a dozen buyers vying for the seller's attention. Stopped by a little while later, and nothing had changed. People have gone ape and are buying, buying, buying. Never seen anything like it. I think that if it can be reloaded it can be sold.

yup, ammo sales are through the roof. i stocked up last year with 13,000 rounds of 54r, and lots more of other calibers.

still, i dont think obama will hit up guns....atleast in the first few years in office. hes got much bigger things to do like fixing the economy, finding jobs for record high unemployment rates, and investing in energy solutions. tax payers will be pissed if he gets right in there and tries to ban M1 carbines. now Hillary is another story.

As I recall, most of the liberals on this board thought he would never get elected!! If you all belonged to the NRA, you would have had the oppertunity to read his stand against guns AND ammunition! The two shows in Louisville in December, not only sold out of ammunition, but also
reloading components for must popular calibers!! Also, AR-15's and their
parts were selling as quickly as they were unpacked! I saw 5 sell in less than 10 minutes!!! We must stand togather on this, or if you ever want to see military firearms again, you will have to visit a museum!!!

Trust me, one Columbine (sp?) or another Virginia Tech and our rights will be on the front burner.

At the recent Phoeniz show they had a fork lift bringing in the most popular ammo & couldn't keep the pallets on the floor.
A friend at the Ventura show last weekend said folks were coming in with hand trucks and one ammo dealer had hand truck "loaners" to take your purchase out to your car.
Probably a good time to invest in ammo mfg. stock ;)

A-Dog is right!

Trust but verify. They WILL come sometime, so never give up the vigilance! Remember, "a communist is a socialist in a hurry!"

A-dogs, you are way behind the power curve. Folks are treating ammo like it was gold. Reminds me of the mid-90's. This too shall pass.

Jarrod, after all of the paranoid dust settles, please keep me in mind when you decide to sell all of the extra ammo you have in your garage. That explains why my 54R went from 39.95 to 89.95 for 440 rounds while I was deployed. It is just like the crude oil speculation of this past summer.

On a social note: All of this really speaks poorly of us that we are this paranoid of Pres-elect Obama's inaguration. Tell me what Pres Bush has done for gun owners? I trust I won't have to eat my words, but he has bigger fish to fry than worring about gun control. Thankfully Heller v DC really did a lot of good for us. We shall see.

P.S. I am not worried about a Columbine or VT shooting. What worries me is a middle-aged white male that just got a pink slip from his company and goes postal because he can't deal with it. That will be front page news! I've never seen so many lay offs in such a short period of time - pretty scary.

Really? We know more about "Joe the Plumber" than we do about our next President. And, what little we do know is kinda scary. Like his associations with folks that hate this country. He's done nothing in his life except run for president. All his records are sealed, which is pretty weird. He's already making rookie mistakes like appointing a new CIA director without consulting Feinstein. The guy says in one of his books that when things go badly he will always side with Islam. No one seems to have noticed that.
So, Shannon, I'd say these are valid fears & concerns people have that haven't been hypnotized by his rhetoric.
