I dont know if it is just me or not.But it seems like Original Pu scopes with mounts have gone up in price. At least i am going by what i see on ebay.Plus you do not seem to see them with original bases either.I know i bought a complete set up on ebay about a year ago for $345 + shipping.I think i would be lucky to get that now for $500

A lot of those $400+ rigs have been there for a very long time. I can see a little bit of a price spike, as there are more people competing for them, but some of the prices I see on Ebay are just wishful thinking.

Agreed, Ebay is loaded with stuff, much of which is so high priced it never sells. Mosin 91/30 bayonets are a good example, they can run more than 50 dollars for opening bid, but do they sell any? Hard to say.

I have been looking for an original base now for a year..they are hard to find although original scope mounts and scopes are plentifull.. 16 dollar mosin cleaning rods, 400+ scopes and mounts, 26 dollar handguards.. i guess there is no crime in asking?

I refuse to pay $400+ for a scope and mount when you can buy a complete legit refurbed PU sniper for $800.

Thats just it you do not see hardy any original bases now included. On my Rguns PU sniper receipt they list the rifle as $400 and the Scope and mount as $400 for a total of $800.I always thought that was odd.It must be some way of paying less taxes for them or something?

Separate pricing on the Rguns rifle and scope/mount? Hmmm?

Might have something to do with a federal excise tax. Certain sporting equipment has fet the seller needs to pay to the gov. I never looked to see if rifles or scopes were listed. Didn't pertain to what I had to pay if I went over a certain dollar amount.

I have done that legally with boats to reduce state sales taxes -the stripped bare used boat (taxable) is $500, the motor and all the gear (non-taxable) is $3000. Probably they have the same idea, or they carry different inventories with seperate valuations.

Yes i bet it does have something to do with Federal tax. They must do all the receipts the same way on the snipers.
