I have a set of these too. Pretty cool. The optics were not used together by one person. One was on the left side of the gun(s) and the other was on the right.
Mine are made the same month as yours 19.4 (April, 1944) and are only 12 numbers away #2407

When I was visiting the outdoor display at the Nimitz Museum in Fredericksburg, TX a few years ago I saw that they had one of these guns there. I mentioned to the tour guide that I had the optics for that gun and she thought that was pretty cool.
In the second photo you can see the mount for one of these optics.
