I was talking to a Texas businessman last night who is into hunting. He's married to a South African Boer who's father has resided in England for quite a few years. He told me he went hunting (stalking) in England with his father in law and sent a rifle from the US to the UK. Said it wasn't hard at all, he sent ito to HM's Customs service who transferred it to the Chief Constable of the locality he was hunting. He was issued a temporary firearms certificate and had no problems getting the rifle back to the US after. I thought that was pretty cool. He said his gun club friends in Texas were telling him about nightmare scenarios when that was anything but the case.
