I've been very happy to be the owner of the oldest Mossberg in the world, MOSSBERG BROWNIE, SERIAL NUMBER 91. The ninety-first gun to came out of Oscar's little New Haven shop in 1919.

I recently learned someone else now holds that title with SERIAL NUMBER 49!

Old post but as I have a low serial number Brownie can anyone verify the #49 serial number. I also understand #92 is also known.. Thanks - Bill

Well I have shot mine but only with shorts because of the low serial number. I am on the lookout for a high serial number one that I would feel safer shooting.

The ones I owned...three barrels shot close to aim...on both guns...

i shot standard long rifle in them, shorts too....
