Also is there a book or dvd i can get to learn about the bp guns? I have a winchester s/s 50cal inline, a traditions 50 cal inline and a thompson hawkin 54 cal. I need a new thimble for the traditions???

Flush it down the toilet, it won't hurt anything. Being a mechanical mixture of sulfur, potassium nitrate and charcoal, there's nothing in it the toilet hasn't disposed of before altho not in precisely that formulation.

Black powder was meant to be burned. If you have a significant amount of the stuff, seek out a black powder shooter & give it a good home, rather than destroy/waste it.
