The switch to 50 threads + stickies on one page is great! And, I said I couldn't possibly think of anything else, but.... This has bothered me since Gunboards was first established. I figure there must be some reason why you guys haven't done it, but I can't imagine what that reason would be! Why, oh why, do we not have a link to http://www.mosinnagant.net right dead center at the top of the page?!?!

Ted, I know you'd agree a button that says "click here, moron" would make a few lives easier! And, yet, other lives lost to a kind of closed time loop.

I don't see why you guys fret over such trivial matters as number of threads per page and outside links. What REALLY matters is what version of gunboards is this?

I think we'd all agreed the last (effective 8/16/07) was v.3 as v.2 went into effect 8/2/03. Since it was so short lived, should this be v.3.01 or v.3.1, or should it go all the way to v.4? Inquiring minds . . . . . .

My biggest problem (other than getting old and stupid LOL) is when I enlarge a picture I have to remember to hit the back button instead of the X button. I keep exiting the whole site instead of getting back to the thread.

Just a minor habit adjustment on my part. The new boards are soo fast I can barely blink my eye and the topic or section has changed in accordance with my request. No more watching the counting of all the posts, or whatever that was.

Badger, I agree I would like it if the pictures opened in another window but what the hell the new boards are great so it don't matter where the picture open. I'll just sign in again after I X off the page.

re: opening pictures in posts

Guys, on my mac, I hit control & click on a thumbnail picture. That gets me a little box with the option "open in new window". Can't you pc using guys right click on the pic & get that? I'll have to try it at work tomorrow, but I think that'll work.

SlimTim, I think it would be more accurate to refer to the v.3 of GB as the "Millenium Edition." ;) It seems to fit, because it was the shortest lived, and fraught with the most bugs!

Even better on a PC, just click on the middle (scroll) button and the picture will open in a new tab in the latest versions of Firefox and IE (they copied FF). Now it might open in a whole new browser window and if so then you need to configure your browser to open in tabs. While I'm reading a thread I "middle click" on the thumbnails and they open in other tabs that are "behind" the one I'm reading (this may require configuration also). As I get to the corresponding text I can jump over to look at the picture and then close it to return to the first tab. Or leave it open and just click back over there. If I close something and then decide to look at it again I can right click on the tab bar and chose "undo close tab" and there it is again without having to hunt for the original link.
