A buddy of mine picked up an oddball today and sent me some pics...
It's in A VZ24 stock... but the stock has a takedown disk and relief cut for a turned down bolt handle. No indication it ever had a sling swivel in the wrist of the stock. But it's NOT a G24(t) stock because there's no K98 sling slot cut! Hmmm...
Receiver has been scrubbed of all marks, other than those posted.
The real head scratcher? What the hell is that front sight base? Never seen anything like it!
Anyone know what the hell we're looking at here?

The front sight looks alot like a Turkish Short I have. We know it is 8mm at least. (I think it is a 34 or 38 or something like that). It was something I bought cheap that the seller misidentified as an M48.

For those who said Polish Wz29... I think we have a winner! He didn't send me pics of the left side of the stock... I just called to confirm the existence of the Wz style setup.
Hell.. I don't remember hearing about these on the market in ages! GunBroker had exactly ZERO hits.
What are they going for today?

For SCW scrubbed ones, I just sold an all matching one recently for $725. I’ve seen them go for $600 on the lower end for non-matching or well worn examples.

Polish crested rifles are going for $1200 minimum these days with all matching examples fetching $3k.

Another question .. is there a database ANYWHERE that could suggest a possible year of manufacture?

Thanks gang...
I can't remember the specific years, but they were not produced long, and I seem to remember that 350,000 was about the total produced. Bent bolt handles were for "cavalry" rifles.

Reference:

Take all of these figures with a grain of salt, as this seems to have been copy-pasted time and time again on various forums, and still has collectors like me scratching my head:

1930 to 1933 - Designated as K29
1933 to 1939 - Designated as Wz.29

Sales/Exports of Karabinek (Kbk) wz.29e rifle:
*1928/29 - 100 rifles sold to Afghanistan
*1929 - 3,000 rifles solid to the Kingdom of Hijaz (now part of Saudi Arabia)
1930 - 4,200 rifles sold to China
1930 - 10,000 rifles sold to the Kingdom of Hijaz (w/parts)
1931 - 8,250 rifles sold to China
1935 - 61 rifles sold to an unknown receiver
1936 - 9,300 rifles sold to China (in reality to Spain)
1937 - 10,094 rifles sold to Mexico (in reality to Spain)
1936 - 1,697 rifles sold to Palestine
1937 - 5,800 rifles to Greece (in reality to Spain)
1938 - 10,000 rifles sold to China (in reality to Spain)
1938 - 40,000 rifles sold to Greece (in reality to Spain)
1938 - 30,000 rifles sold to Peru (in reality to Spain)
1938 - 10,000 rifles sold to an unknown receiver
1938 - 500 rifles sold to an unknown receiver

*Wz.29/K29's exported before 1930 are assumed to be reworks of Polish small ring K98s converted to the Wz.29 short rifle pattern.

Feel free to correct me or provide updated data. This is what I have seen on other forums and videos on YouTube.
