Mark Kelly alerted me to a gun in a local shop that had some odd numbers on it. So I took off early today so I could go pick it up. Above the serial number in very large font is stamped "7393". I have no idea what this means. Anyone have an idea?

The gun is a 1943 Tula M91/30. All stamped matching including bayonet. It is a refurb, so those may not be original parts. It is IOINC stamped under the barrel instead of a billboard import mark.

Too much vodka the night before for the inspector?

Interesting markings. And I haven't the foggiest either.

Brother Ted's idea sounds pretty good.

BTW, there are two "e's" in Kelley.

Ken, looks like yours also had an EG mark. I think Ted might be right.
