Not bad, not bad. Dried cosmoline didn't help. Didn't have an 8 foot screw driver for the butt stock though.

Yeah, but stripper took care of that easily enough. That reminds me, need to get by wal mart for some cold blue. Or would plum brown look cooler? Not...

The bands? Meh, child's play!

The band RETAINERS, on the other hand? Either type would be rejected as too big a torture, even for hell.

The worst thing with any Mauser has to be cleaning the rear face of the locking lug recesses, especially the one in the top of the receiver ring. My pinky doesn't bend that way, and a toilet brush is just too big.

A lot of the 8mm I shoot is corrosive, so I am pretty obsessive about getting EVERYTHING gone over.

Spring loaded cam kinda blew me away. Serious bit of engineering all along the barrel channel.
