I got the letter. Someone tried to use my card at high dollar restaurant but my CC company caught it and froze card. Issued New Card. What can Numerich do? Get more secure software! Also they sent a LETTER!! Never heard of Text or Email?

Replaced my card more recently than I ordered, still sucks though.
Hard copy letter might be a legal requirement.

would they have made a counterfeit card and then tried to pay for their meal? i can see them using info on line to steal your $ its a same a camera was not recording

I think they called in a pickup order and gave CC number over the phone.

One precaution everybody should take is to review every credit card statement line by line. Every now and then I find an incorrect charge, like the time I rented a pair of skis and the resort tacked on somebody else's ski lesson. That was just a mistake; they fixed it as soon as I complained. A couple of years ago I saw a charge from Wal-Mart on one of my cards. I don't shop at Wal-Mart so that was a dead giveaway. Also the Wal-Mart was in Florida and I live in Arizona. Card reissued, charge canceled. Amount was small, obviously a test to see if the number worked. My favorite was the time the security department of an international airline woke me up at 5:00 AM on a Sunday morning to ask if I had authorized a woman to charge a one-way ticket from Lagos, Nigeria to Indianapolis. Not hardly. I don't recall the name but it was a Nigerian name. Got on the horn to my card issuer and had a new card in a day or two.

May be people will blame Russian hackers, no doubt Numrich will do all they can to fix the problem. I don`t buy a whole lot from them but they have been a good company to do business with for me even before the internet always fast service. When I was 18 a LGS learned me of them ,back then they would supply a hard back catalogue bigger than any bible you have ever seen that had a blow up of every firearm ever made at that time with part numbers. I know a guy that got his card hacked a while back but the thieves were using his card in the U.K. buying up perfume.

i checked my auto pay to the power company ,i thought i had up dated the new card when i entered the new card a screen popped up asking if i wanted to use the (eno option ) i had talked about before, i checked yes and it now displayed a bunch of new numbers and a different cvv 3 digit number than on my new card. i will call the power company on Monday And check to make sure the payment went thru with the fake card numbers . iam using CAPITAL ONE i think they refer to this as a virtual credit card .

Gonna say this, my girl does debit/CC stuff where she works, Fact of point, she is person you would call. Constant issue. Just monitor your account and report any possible fraud Charges. Now don’t be like the dumb ass “B” that went to Cancun, called in fraud since she wasn’t there but still posted Facebook pics showing,,,,,, wait for it,,,,

Before I left Colorado my debit card was hacked 13 times in a year. I know my info was part of the OPM hacks, so I imagine that had something to do with it. Fortunately the credit unions fraud department caught all of them before I did. All I had to do was file a police report and send them a copy of the report and they refunded the money each time. Still a pain in the A** though
Since I have moved to Texas my card has only been hacked once 🤞

This is why I don’t have debit cards, only credit. In the event of any sort of compromise it’s always Someone Else’s money at stake, not mine.

Anytime one of my credit cards is used I immediately get a text message. You can set them up for emails also. If you never check your credit card statement or bank statement except once a month when it comes in the mail, you are always going to be in for surprises

No it really doesn’t. Some scammer buys $2k on your debit card, you are out $2k and fighting with your bank to hopefully get it back. Many banks aren’t motivated to help you because they might lose money if they reverse the charges.
On a credit card if someone buys $2k you are out nothing. It’s the credit card company who’s out money until you pay. They are motivated to reverse the charges for fear you might not pay at all or cancel the card

Exactly, which is why I don't even HAVE a debit card (only credit cards), nor an ATM card. If something happens, it's Not My Money.
