Nice looking rifle. The photos were well taken; I really like the second photo. Most people here (me included) are not too thrilled with stocks that have had (even) the shellac removed. That aside, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I appreciate the "crudeness" of wartime MNs, with the rough milling and the shortcuts. IMO you have a keeper.

Pics of the S/N'ed parts?? Looks like it did not go thru standard refrub.
Looks to at least have been reblued based on the bluing inside the receiver though?

OP - Do you have a close up of the fore end of the rifle? From "a distance", it looks like the typical peeling shellac from removing the barrel bands, but you said it doesn't have shellac, so I'm just curious what's going on up there... just dings in the wood causing a color change?

1941-1942 is the right time when the soviet started messing around with their bluing processes to speed up production and reduce costs. So it doesn't necessarily have to have the inner receiver in white.

You may have something special here, need to see pics of the bolt serial, floorplate serial, butt plate serial, and if there is a round stock cartouche on the right side of the stock. From first glance I like what I see, but need more pics to be sure. When I say say special, I mean special. 1941 is an exceptionally difficult year to find in non-finned, original condition.

Also if you look in the first set of pictures, the picture of the stock behind the triggerguard looks like it has some kind of marking. I determined it is a stamp of a backwards letter R.

Looks like the last 6 digits of the Century assigned S/N on the receiver is 139XXX. The original 1941 Izhevsk that I have was imported Century with 143XXX import S/N. So these two were processed thru Century only ~4,000 units apart and their factory prefixes (ЖЛ and ЖB) are very close too.

Sure makes you wonder if Century happened to stumble upon some factory crates of unissued M91/30 and we are now seeing few stranglers float to the surface.

All numbered parts are original, but it does appear to be refinished. The stock certainly, but the metal I am less certain.

Can you please image the left side of the barrel shank? There should be a small inspection with two cyrillc letters. Should match the stock.

What are you basing the stock refinishing on? I'm not seeing any stock repairs and the buttstock stamps look sharp but lightly struck. I would assume they would replace the "in white" handguard band retainers with the blued replacements if they did any sanding.

Stock is very obviously sanded. Finish does not appear to be correct type, color, etc.
