At gunshows I have attended in the last year that is what it would be priced at....but a better price would be lower of course. Does it have a bayonet and mags?

It is a tough decision. If I was at a gunshow for two days and saw it on the first day I would have checked it out a couple of times. On the second day I would keep an eye on it from a distance. Then I would, if I had the $$, offer they guy $1,000. If he did not get too mad at me and did not want to take it home again he might come down some...if he priced it for anything less than $1,200 I would probably snag it. The Sile imports were top notch.

It all depends if you really want a collectable, very high quality, military spec weapon that might best become a safe queen. There will be no more more NIB unfired Chinese Type 56s coming into the US. The law of supply and demand enters into the equation and it is remarkable what some items will sell for on the auction sites. Some might say spend half that on a good shooter and the rest for ammo. I saw a slightly used Norinco Type 56s pre ban go for $1,200 at the last show..no box or goodies.

Is this too much? Need advice from the experts!

Thank You
I'm certainly no expert but I have one that had 2 boxes of ammo shot through it so it is a used one.

Mine came like this.

About 3 years ago I was told on another forum they were going for up to 1600.
I had no idea what it was and neither did the seller. I offered $300 because it was used and Dunhams was selling new AK's for $389.
He said OK. When I saw it was still in the box with 3 mags, I gave him an extra $50.
Months later I found out what I had.
Every now and then, you get lucky

Norinco

Thanks for sharing..I hate you. That is meant to be a compliment. That was a once in a lifetime deal.
Yes it was.
Every now and then, the blind squirrel finds a nut.

Getting a 51 Tula SKS for $125 with a hundred strippers and a hundred rounds wasn't too bad either although not as good as the 56S.

If Obuma gets re-elected, will these Preban Chinese AK's double or even triple in price? That's an honest question. So maybe buying one now, before the craziness hits is a good idea?
I would doubt it. They have already ascended to a relatively high level of cost, collectability and rarity over the past 20 years.
All AK's may increase due to political or legislative activity. But I do not see where a pre-ban Chinese would accelerate in price over any other AK and in fact not as likely to be attractive as the prices are already high on all Chinese pre-bans.
Most buyers in a frenzy market of politics are looking to buy the cheapest easiest to obtain models which do tend to escalate in price with the crazy demansd., as happened in 2008. Common models from retailers and Gunbroker individual sales.

Unless it is still sealed in the original plastic wrapper, it is not New in the Box. Like new would be more honest. Still, they are fetching 1200-1500 all day long. I just don't see paying all the extra money for a box, unless you plan on reselling it to make a few extra $$$.
