Just passing on some information that may be of interest to some of you.

NoDak Spud has announced that they are suspending requests for custom serial numbers and selector markings on their AK receivers in order to help them keep up with huge increase in demand that has occurred since the election.

Does this mean there are people who like AK's? ..... LOL

Copied from the link provided in the original post:

**READ THIS**

DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF SALES SINCE THE ELECTION, WE ARE SUSPENDING THE AK CUSTOM SERIAL NUMBER PROGRAM.

ALSO, WE WILL NOT BE DOING ANY CUSTOM SELECTOR MARKING FOR A WHILE.

WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO FILL ALL CUSTOM ORDERS WE CURRENTLY HAVE IN-HOUSE.

AFTER THAT, ALL ORDERS WILL BE FILLED WITH STANDARD MARKED RECEIVERS.

WE FEEL WE WILL NOT ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH PRODUCTION DEMANDS IF WE CONTINUE THESE HIGHLY TIME CONSUMING OPERATIONS.

Reading between the lines. We expect a Ban. So we are making as many receivers as possible before that happens
Probably not. I think it is solely based on current order flow. Stockpiling untransferred receivers as a manufacturer can be a two-edged sword if there is legislation. He may be stuck with them. I suspect all the builders are building as fast as they can with the new prices. All the casual kit holders who were thinking about building are now ordering because THEY are the ones worried about a ban. The Copes soon to be released Bulgarian AK74 kits will and are sucking up a lot of receivers.

If people are in a panic mode now, think how it is going to be when there is an AWB bill to be voted on and when obama signs it......... There probably be a couple of months of lag time before it goes into effect.

KEEP BUYING guns and ammo...... send the dem's a message!!!!!!!!1

Even pre Obamma it took 8 weeks for my custom serial numbered receiver last time .i guess its a hastle for them when they can make so many more to sell .they were out of receiver types so they probably want to catch up to keep up with demand .

I agree that the dot peen process we use is not equivalent in eye appeal to a true engraving.

Harlan ,to be honest ,Once you bead blast the area .It looks way better.I more heavily blast the engraving and it takes on a more engraved look . Excellent alternative to having the cost and time of another seperate step . It often took 40-60 dollars not including shipping both ways to have engraving done otherwise. Definitly a desireable option.
