I was rummaging around one of my parts boxes and found the no trap butt plate shown below. Its dimensions are practically the same as the '03 Springfield milled butt plate, but I'm not aware that a no trap butt plate was ever used (ditto Krag rifles & carbines). Does anyone have an idea what this plate goes to?

i have one like it, not sure of its history..many other collectors feel its an after market part offered for shooters .
