I just recently acquired a 1978 Bulgarian Mak, but curious as it has no import marks, no caliber stamps, etc. The only stampings are the circle 10 and serial numbers on slide frame, internals, etc, all matching.

I am assuming previous owner removed all other markings when re-finished? Or is this common for Bulgy Maks?

TIA

I don't think it was refinished.

Might be it missed the stamp, it happens. Might be it was brought back from some foreign land during Cold War. Might be fake from Afghanistan. Sight unseen, difficult to tell.

If it's been refinished then they were probably removed then. I don't have a non-import marked Bulgie but I've got EG's & Russians that have no import marks. Like IJ said they could have been missed or came in some other way. Two of them came from distributors so they were probably just missed others came from gunshows so it's hard to say. Pics would help.
