Without a doubt these are the sexiest of the whole series. The trouble is finding ones in decent shape. I have been fortunate to have owned some nice ones over the years and these will always be my favorite variation. To bad they didn't make more of them.

I was looking for one last weekend at the Lexington Gun Show. There were a few left but they were all "bubba-restored", meaning the blueing was "polished" off to make it shiny and the wood was sanded and covered in 6 inches of lacquer.

I saw a beautiful one at the last Tulsa gunshow but some guy beat me to it. So far I've had my best luck on internet auction sites. Tulsa is next month and that has to be the best and biggest gun show in the US. When you see something you like you have to buy it. If you look around and come back chances are it will be gone. The mint one I saw there went for $700 so these things are increasing in value.

Luck with a No. 5

Found a No. 5, that somebody had varnished, so it came cheap £250 (about US$ 500).

Stripped varnish of and did some other bits to it - much better now.

Do not expect to get one below £300.
