4th Saturday in Sept, 8:30 AM at the Albuquerque public range.

NM MILSURPS will hold our semi-annual Hawkeye Match at 800 yards for the September shoot.
Rifles and carbines may be used in the Open Sight and Optics class. These firearms must be as issued and unmodified.
This will be a prone match with shooters having medical conditions firing from the bench.
Slings will be allowed and only a front rifle rest shall be used.
3 sighting shots and 20 rounds for score on our AR550 Man Torso steel target. Both electronic flash and pulsating red LED hit indicators will be used to help aid in scoring hits.
We will hold at least one practice match beginning next Saturday.
Additional spotting scopes are welcome.

800 yard match today:

It was fun! The only scoped rifle was the L42A1 with 14 hits...as the only scoped rifle there was really no scoped rifle “match”.
Winning open sights was HK-91 with 13 hits. Shooting POF GI ball 7.62x51. IMPRESSIVE!

What Fun!
We had a good turn out for the 800 yard match and the weather was bright and clear with a 5-10 MPH cross breeze.
Today we set a new record for the most number of shooters shooting very good scores overall. No one shot a zero.
We had on hand:
7x57 m/m M-1912 Brazilian Mauser
7.62x54R Finn M-39
7.62x51 NATO H&K G3
7.62x51 NATO Israeli M98K Mauser
7.62x51 Britt L42A1 Sniper Enfield
M-1917 Enfield .30-06 ( only scoped rifle in its class)
8x50R m/m Lebel M1907/15 Berthier Carbine
8 x52R m/m Siamese 45/66 Long rifle
All of the rifles and the carbine ( you had to see this thing shoot) got very good hits.
The winning score was 13 hits out of 20 shots taken. ( G3 rifle)
All firearms shot very well and most misses ( if the shooter did his part) were very close to the target missing by a few inches.
