A pawn shop I have been haunting for years finally turned up an EG at a decent price.
I was a bit confused over the "85" date on the frame til I wiped it clean and it was revealed to be a "65"!
It does have an unusual "AE" engraved on both sides of the slide. Bubbas work I presume. Still a good shooter for $209! I'll post pics when I can get to something besides my iPad.

Very nice. I am practicing great restaint and waiting for an EG. There are 3 or 4 Baikals around here for $200.00 with some stuff and some Bulgys for around $250. Recent gun show dealer had a Bulgy, 2 matching mags, holster, cleaning rod for $300 OTD. Looked very nice. He said he bought a lot of these a few years ago and sells one every now and them. He almost had me..........

Might want to double check your "AE" mark. I am pretty sure that is the "UAE" mark ie United Arab Emirates, used to mark weapons used in trade with the UAE from other European countries for Oil considerations. I had another pistol with the same marking at one time, along with some other engravings which turned out to be some Arabic writings of some form or another. A quote from the Qur'an I think it was.

Interesting thought gfisher! That UAE significance actually occurred to me but since it has Century import marks I dismissed it. I guess it could have gone there and back before winding up here.
