M44 stocks are pretty reasonable. $20 or so for a good used one and $40 for a like-new one. They require little if any fitting.
Too bad your hex has a bad bore. I had one with a bad chamber and bought a barrelled receiver for about $20 from a fellow who strips rifles for parts. If you can't return it to the dealer, you may consider parting yours out and buying another 91/30
