Well it seems that this is sword week so I thought I would add my new sword to the board. Like many I have only had a couple of swords (mainly NCO swords) but this one just kept calling my name. I think it is just a nice example of a war time sword. Believe it might have had a leather cover of it at one time. The tsuba is really nice and a bit different from some that I have seen. The menuki’s appear to be the standard dragon but I don’t want to remove them to see. Decent shape with a nice Hamon in the notareba pattern. About the only thing that I question is that the mikugi is a metal peg vice bamboo. Thanks to Edokko, I know that the mei is Seki ju Kanemichi saku kore and means “This made by Kanemichi residing in Seki”.

Nice sword! Made by the same guy that made the second one on my thread!
Yup, that's why I got off my butt and posted it. Thought it cool that we both picked up nice swords made by the same guy within a week of each other.

it would be nice but all of the research and it has been a lot all I have been able to find out is my mei is the original one he used. if someone has hawleys it might say in there. that is the sword bible and it runs anywhere from 500 to 1000 dollars if you can even find it. we also have to take into account students who made blades in his name to use correct terminology daisaku daimei. edokko if you read this do you have a copy of hawleys?
