Just picked up this old work horse. Rough and used but still a neat piece. My friend is a Auctioneer in West Virginia . It is mainly a produce Auction but people bring things to the Auction right up to the start time so many things never advertised. He called me Friday night and said a Military gun just arrived with bayonet on it and missing parts , had a reserve of $150.00. The gun never meet the reserve so my friend picked it up for me for $100.00 off the man. When I picked it up today this is what it is. It is SA marked but rough and in need of some parts front wood hand guard , and metal vented piece. Oh I gave my friend $200.00 and lunch for doing me the favour , I figured the bayonet was almost worth $200.00 . Thanks and any help would be great.
The bayonet used to be worth $200. That is, until someone decided to file in those grooves into the grips. I'll bow out on offering any kind of value as I don't have the experience with SVTs.
Rarely seen Podolsk 1940 (only about 13K made), but the condition is, quite frankly, terrible. It is Finnish marked so I assume nothing matches. Its worth about what you paid IMO. Bayonet isn't horrible so maybe $50-75 by itself.
