I just bought a new to me russian sks which has not arrived yet. I was wondering what the Tula mark and the rearsonal marks looked like and where they can be found??? some pictures would be nice. Thanks in advance.
Tula arsenal is an arrow inside a star. Izhevsk arsenal is an arrow inside a triangle inside a circle. Refurb marks look like this: <> or [\] and ar eusually found on the receiver cover and stock. A series of XXXX's punched over an old serial number on the stock is a dead giveaway of a refurb. Google "yooperj" for everything you need to know about the SKS, no matter where it came from.
