Seen that myself. I was watching both and was a bit surprised.

The tiger striped stock on one of them was gorgeous but hard to fork over 1k for it when more rare items are around.
I think that stock had something to do with it. I got a 91-24 a week ago and was surprised that I was the only bidder. If I didnt get the 24, I wad going for one of those 28s.....I wouldn't have gone 1k high though

Agreed. The '39 Sky is the least rate iirc, certainly not worth 1k, but hey, the seller wins that one!

That striped stock 28/30 was spammed all over the Facebook groups and all the tacticool people were spazzing out over it. It didn't amuse me honestly. The other one appealed to me more though. Still, at $1k+ this hurts my hopes of ever getting one. :(

Ahhh...don't get discouraged. Keep your eyes peeled, visit gun / pawn shops often. They do show up and in many cases reasonable.

I didn't know it was all over facebook but I am very amused :+) The $$ will go to good use.

It is a really interesting stock that changes in the light under the pomo laquer.

I found this one:
at a gun show for $370 two years ago. It can happen to you!

More money than brains. The only one I see being worth that is the no date.
Don't forget about the upgraded m/28's!

In the case of the first one a good seller, figured stock, good pictures, and good description worked well together. In the case of the second it had a matching stock, good pictures, and a similar one was going for high dollar. I don't see the shock value here. I am a little surprised that the no date isn't selling on there though. well done to both sellers.

There are no more and collector interest is very high for nice Finn's. I can see prices gong up for prime rifle's. Hell 91-30's are getting $200 now-a-days. I very nice M28-30 can fitch upwards of $700+ today. Good one's are hard to find.
