Happy Birthday, What's the unit mark? Is that one of the ones from the Canadian Militia unit? I forget which one, Ottawa or Ontario, I guessing.

No, the unit mark is from the 2ns Grenadier Reserve Regiment of the Imperial German Army. This piece never went to Canada. The QHG (Quebec Home Guard) rifles were modified to single shot and the stocks were marked appropriately.

Fantastic rifle, awesome condition, indeed. You know that for safety reasons (because of the tube-type magazine) the bullets used in the M71/84 rifle had slightly flattened heads as compared with the standard M71 round?
