As posted in another link on here, the NJ legislature has passed a 10 round magazine limit. The bill also bans many tube feed .22 rifle. It is now up to Governor Christie whether he signs it into law or vetos it. It is believed that Christie has the office of president on his mind. Even though your state may have looser gun controls and may not be in danger of passing any please help New Jersey gun owners by emailing governor Christie and reminding him that magazine capacity limits do not stop crime and only affect law abiding gun owners. I think if he hears from a few hundred concerned voters from out of state asking him to veto A2006/S993, it may help him make the right decision. If you don't like Christie, that's fine, just be civil and help your fellow NJ gun enthusiasts out a bit. Thanks!

The bill has absolutely nothing to do with guns, guns safety, gun crime, etc., etc. ...
It was dirty politics, plain and simple, by the Democrat controlled Legislature, to put Christie and his POTUS aspirations in a vice.
Rammed through, on an accelerated basis and with total disregard for any testimonies at hearings and strong opposition from pro-gun residents, it was always a foregone conclusion it would get a majority party vote along party lines. Exactly what happened.
Christie can veto it and piss off the anti's or let it quietly become law by failing to sign it in 45 days and piss off legal gun owners. It is the lose, lose political stunt the Dems wanted no matter which route he chooses.

DO ... bombard his office with email, snail mail, phone calls and be sure to let him know the wrath of legal gun owners will be felt should he attempt any run for the POTUS primary.
Particularly important to hear from "fly over country" where free citizens would torpedo any such effort and quickly doom him and any hope.
His anti 2A record already stands strongly against him. Can't walk away from or hide that. Let him know this would be a final nail in that coffin!

Just think - many years ago a girl from Woodbridge, NJ went to college here. I dated her and would have married her if she had nnot been in such a rush (I was still in school). Her parents were old and the odds are that I would have ended up in NJ. The fates were looking out for me.

he vetoed it last night!
christi is pretending to be "pro 2nd Amendment"... He vetoed the bill strictly because he hopes to be the rino presidential nominee...

If you look at his past record, you will see that he has always been anti 2nd Amendment...

he vetoed it last night! i love how the newtown families apllaud colorados 15 round limit then try and get nj to bring its 15 round limit down further
Not to try to degrade the loss of those families, as its a horrible thing that happened to them. My heart goes out to them. But, they're hypocrites. Where were they before the tragedies took place? If they were so concerned about this issue it would have been number 1 on their list and they'd have been involved in this fight long before New town....Same thing happened with Sarah Brady back when Reagan was shot. Nobody ever heard of her until her husband was injured. Sorry but unless you're passionate about a cause, I don't want to hear it later that the only reason you got involved is because you suffered a tragedy in your family.

VETO! ...and correctly framed as a "conditional veto" where "ammunition" was replaced with mental health reforms. Christie puts the Dems in a box of his own making.
The bill was never about guns, gun crime, ammo capacity ... all to do with pure politics and a chess game designed to checkmate any POTUS aspirations.
The argument that 200 million legal law-abiding gun owners in this country would seriously frown upon him signing the bill or letting it pass after the 45 day limit appears to have gotten through.

Let's not forget the mighty effort of ANJRPC and NJ2AS and all the members deluging Christie with email, snail mail, phone calls! We were heard and noticed!
Thanks to everyone who participated!
