Hello gunboards! My name is Alan and I have an addiction:

(Sorry, couldn't get back far enough to photo the entire rifles. Not the greatest quality either.)

Enfield SMLE - Lithgow 1941
Nagant Revolver - Date worn (either 1913 or 1916)
Mosin Nagant 91/30 - Izzy 1943
Mosin Nagant M91 - New England Westinghouse 1915 (later model - 1918 maybe?)

Just picked up the Westinghouse today for $120. Needs a lot of cleaning, but I think she'll turn out alright. And somebody glued a Chucky Cheese token in the stock. Mosin Nagant Chucky Cheese Special I guess :p

I'm afraid you got burned on that deal , them Russian Mausers ain't worth $120, but to be kind I'll happily take it off your hands for what you paid for it :p.
Nah, Congrats on the new rifle, I'm sure you'll enjoy it, and welcome to the boards.

Welcome to the Boards. Recognizing and admitting that you have an addiction is the first step. The next steps are to buy more Mosins...:D

Indeed. My list of wants is a bit daunting for my wallet, but I get one when I can.

Man, that Westinghouse is downright nasty. There was a piece of cosmoline-soaked wood stuck down in behind the release spring of the floor plate. Took an hour to get it all out. But cleaning them is half the fun of collecting them.

I smell like old rifle and rem oil. That should be made into a cologne.

Izzy - Izhevsk

Can't remember where I picked up the term 'Izzy', but I always liked it; it's like a nickname for your girlfriend.

Yeah, you can kinda see it in the pic. At first I was like, 'I've never seen a metallic seal on a Mosin stock.' I couldn't believe it. It was embedded and held in by some kind of weak glue - Elmer's school glue or something.

There's an idea for a topic: "Strange things found in/on your Mosin"

Welcome.

And we do need a close up of the Chucky Cheese token.

I bet NEW put the Chucky Cheese stock marker there just to mess with Ted's head. Now he has to add that to his list of marks.

I don't have the best camera in the world for closeups, but here goes:

(Sorry about size)

Picture is a little fuzzy- is that a Finn Chucky Cheese token? Wonder how many tickets it took to win that?:)

Seriously, the rifle looks pretty good. Might consider having Candyman do a rework on the
stock.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting that fixed.

I also thought about leaving the token in just because it's funny as hell, lol.

Thank you Vic.

I always thought Mosin collectors were exaggerating when they talked about building another room onto their homes for their collection. But now, with my wish list growing, I could see how that could become a problem in the future.
