Brand new DPMS complete lower has a defective magazine catch! I couldn't believe it...Pinned the upper on and went to insert a mag, and it wouldn't "catch".
Huh??...First Mag was a C-mag....2nd try was a Magpul, 3rd was an AR Stoner. WTF?
So i look at the mag Catch, damn thing has no raised surface to "catch" the magazine cutout. I wonder where DPMS quality control was that day?...Not to mention, they didn't catch it (no pun intended) during assembly of the Lower.
....I wonder how many are out there now?
Not a big deal, just really annoying, and their website shows them "unavailable".
Sigh...

US - have you called DPMS and talked to them? They are very customer service oriented; a friend had a problem with his brand new AP4. Called them - within 5 minutes they had his address so they send him a return authorization. Dale had his gun back in 3 days of them receiving it...works like a charm...

I did send them an e-mail, i hope to hear from them soon. I was just very surprised by that, and a little disappointed.
People make mistakes, but being a QA inspecter myself, i don't see how that got by. I would have thought that after assembly, they would seat a mag just to check fit.
But i'm sure they are busier than a one legged man at a butt kicking contest right now!

Sure enough, Kudos to DPMS! They returned my e-mail and they are sending me a new mag catch, no questions asked.
That's the kind of customer service i won't forget. A++ to them!

Thanks for the follow-up post to let us know that DPMS is a good organization. I own one of their M4's and am happy with my purchase even though I think it has one of the tightest headspaces of any of my semi-autos....

i was thinking the same thing as i know most of those guys , they do care ,

they do fit mags and fire , but if there is a faulty part that quits after inspection its a customer service item , and they get parts just like everyone else , not always 100% perfect bits comming in ,

they do care and will make things right - i know ive had them do it for me ,

when yu produce the quantities that most manufacturers do its tuff not to have some issues , look at the car companies - they have regular recalls
