Got an odd lot of 10 boxes of this that I picked up with some heavy ball. Headstamp is 10 over 89 with a brass washed case and ak type bullet. Here are some pictures. Even came with a sheet of paper

My high school German tells me that it is East German practice ammunition (Übungspatronen translates as Training Cartridges).

10 STÜCK = 10 Pieces, or 10 rounds.

Yes, bought several hundred rounds of this years ago and still have some squirilled(sp) away somewhere. Light ball, very accurate and very much corrosive.

Seems odd that they would contract bulgaria to make their ammo. What's it worth in today's market?

The DDR never made any x54R, so they contracted out for what they needed with their East Bloc partners.

Yes EG training ammo. My go to for Moisen carbines. Light recoil and very accurate!

Loaded in E Germany with cases sourced from Bulgaria and Romania. Bullet is a flat based 125gr steel core and jacket. Paper Slip in case gives sight settings for several MGs in service.
