I am participating in a photoshoot in two months for a untitled documentary about the Italian campaign in 1944.

I need to build an replica K-98 sniper rifle without breaking the bank. I have been looking over some of the replica mounts, and scopes online, and I see that they are extremely expensive for what I would need it for.

What is the cheapest I can get away with, and still be correct?

There is no "cheap" way to build one. Your best bet is to find someone local from these boards that already has one and would lend it for the shoot.

Any suggestions on scopes? I have searched for repro mounts, and found them at a decent price. However original scopes seem to be out of my price range. Are there any post-war models that would be acceptable for a long rail system?
