So I've scoured the web for the past couple days straight, trying to identify this scope, brought back from Iraq in 2005. It looks German, but I can't find this model on the web. It's on a Stanag G3 Mount, but I just don't know. I also don't know what kind of batteries this takes to get it up and running either. Any help would be appreciated!

says "Passive Sight" in English. Could only be a starlight type night sight. An infrared one isn't passive. srinde has it right.

The Arabic/Farsi script says "made in the electronic factory of Iran", the other Arabic sticker in white was not clear enough to read. I think srinde's guess is correct. It may be a war capture from the Iran/ Iraq war.

Thanks much. I've tried to search for Iranian NV scope/sight and have found nothing. It looks similar to the early Zeiss NV scopes. It would make sense, because it's on a G3 mount and the Iranians love those rifles. It was in a destroyed vehicle about 2 miles from the Iranian Border when it was recovered.

Thanks again for all the info guys!
