I have an FZE43 bayo and matching sheath. There is no lock/latch assembly in the bayo.

I have a spare M48 bayo, and would like to remove the assembly from it and install it on the K98 bayo to make it functional again.

Does anyone have instructions or can give me a step by step?

or is it not possible?

Thanks

locking button

I'm not so sure that the locking mechanism on a Yugo bayo will work. Nothing else from a Yugo will work on a K98 bayo, including the scabbard, handles, and screws. IF yugos are set up the same way (when I get home I'll check mine) you unscrew the "button", preferrably with a slotted tool. If you have to use vise grips wrap the button with something soft first so you don't scar it. Once you unscrew the button it all comes apart in a straight-forward manner.

You are quite correct. yugo parts will not work. I've posted a WTB for the K98 bayo parts on the WTB forum.
