hi guys, and merry christmas!! i got this today at a sale and have no idea what it is, thats why i bought!

its a No1 MkIII mfg by BSA, but the rest of the markings are ?? non-import matked. any ideas???

Siamese contract, and it looks like a nice one, something you don't run across every day. One of 10,000 ordered by the King of Siam in the '20s for the "Wild Tiger Corps", a Siamese volunteer outfit.

usually they are really abused - thats probably the best i've ever seen - what's the bore like?

you can get siamese bayonets too - they are normal P07 bayos, the only ones i've seen are chromed though

By the way, the King of Siam attended The Royal Military Collegs Sandhurst so that might have influenced his choice of rifle a wee bit.
The Wild tiger Corps was composed of his Civil Service employees.

Nice looking siamese, it would pay to take it apart & check the condition of the metal under the wood, some can appear ok from the outside but badly pitted inside. Please remember to remove the forend before removing butt.
