found a possible k98 mauser and only markings on th rifle are K98 on left side of reciever and the serial # ,thats it . can anyone help? can can post pic if need be.

Sounds like a polish Mauser. the one that was a copy of the German Kar 98a, I think it was marked K98 on the sidewall.

It does not sound like it is a K98k from your description. But you really need to post pictures for anyone to make an intelligent determination as to what it is?

Only thing that comes to mind is a Yugo scrubbed k98.
I had one that the byf43 was microscopic (but readable with white out) and never had the Yugo crest added.

If it has "K98" on its siderail it is a Polish Mauser. If it has that and no receiver ring marking it is a scrubbed Polish Mauser from Spain.
