Jack, the latest printing has gone back to the original binding method, i.e., binding on the narrow side. In that way, the book opens right to left conventionally. On some earlier printings, I had to have the book bound opening away from you, which was a little awkward for some, but at least they got the info. Anyway, the latest printing is available @ $42.00 postpaid from: Fred Honeycutt, 5282 Ridan Way, Palm Beach Gardens, Fl 33418.

Military Pistols of Japan has been out of print for about 2 years. I just don't have the time now to do the required update and have put that off 'til the company lets me retire for the 3rd time. I enjoy my work but one of these days will have to get serious about retirement.

Fred, You saying that there is a 5th edition bound as the 1st? If so, please send me one and I'll either send you a check for $42 or credit your BANZAI subscription for 14-months, make that 15 for your effort, friendship, etc. Doss

This new variation in the MROJ is definetly worth the money. I have already logged many hours on the bowl in deep deep research, now made much easier with the new layout. I predict an outburst in knowledge due to bathroom compatability. I had already owned a 5th edition and passed it on to a friend, without really comparing them, but i think there are some additions. I noticed a blurb about the toyo kogyo only, no mum, late war 99s and an addition in the kokura 99 sniper section pointing out the "modification" marking sometimes seen under the shiki on the top of the receiver. There may be more but that is all I found In the first week of ownership. may be I am crazy.

Mike, you do pay attention to detail. I'm impressed. I thought no one would notice.
