I have a old Argentine Mauser with a useless barrel and I am going to convert it to a .220 swift. What I need to know is does any of gunboards sponsors make and fit barrels for this action?

Just what model of argentine mauser do you wish to convert to 220 swift? Either the 1891 issue or the 1909 issue. If its a 1891 issue you may as well forget about it. That action was not designed with those pressures in mind. If its a 1909 then have at it. That action will take the swift pressures. Just want to make sure we all keep our eyes and ears where they belong. Frank

I don't think they are a sponsor, but E.R. Shaw Custom Barrels does this type of work and they offer a barrel in .220 Swift. I've never had a rifle re-barreled by them, but I have a couple of rifles with Shaw barrels and they are good quality. Maybe give them a call and see what they have to say about your project.
